OS RETORNOS, O RETRATO, O RELATO: VENTOS QUE SOPRAM NO TEMPO

Resumo: Neste artigo são observados os retornos das personagens Rodrigo Terra Cambará e Floriano Cambará ao vilarejo Santa Fé nos dois volumes de O Retrato (1951), segunda parte da trilogia O Tempo e o Vento do escritor brasileiro Erico Verissimo. O regresso à origem a partir de uma compreensão essencializante será aqui discutido em diálogo com a ideia de violência e sua legitimização no processo da fundação de Santa Fé e da manutenção de suas relações sociais. Por outro lado, discute-se neste trabalho o lugar desempenhado pela arte nas dinâmicas sociais, de modo que se possa considerá-la como alternativa pacífica, mais especificamente em consideração aos conceitos de saber sobreviver e saberconviver do romanista alemão Ottmar Ette (2005; 2021).

Abstract: In this paper the returns of the characters Rodrigo Terra Cambará and Floriano Cambará to the village Santa Fé in the two volumes of O Retrato (1951), second part of the trilogy O Tempo e o Vento by the Brazilian writer Erico Verissimo are observed. The return to the origin in sense of an essentializing understanding will be discussed here in dialogue with the idea of violence and its legitimization in the process of the foundation of Santa Fé and the maintenance of its social relations. It will also be discussed the place played by art in social dynamics, so that it can be considered as a peaceful alternative, more specifically in consideration of the concepts of knowledge for survival or about life knowledge and knowledge of (and for) living together by the German romanist Ottmar Ette (2005; 2021).
