O CONTINENTE, O PAPEL DA ARTE E A FUNÇÃO DO ESCRITOR

Resumo

Resumo: Este artigo tem o objetivo de apontar e compreender como o papel da arte e a função do escritor, tomados como pontos de partida do processo de criação, influíram na consagrada proposta estrutural de O Continente e, vistos daí, servem para pensar o conjunto da obra de Erico Verissimo. Analisar-se-ão aspectos como a composição das personagens, as vozes sociais mimetizadas por elas, as alternâncias de foco narrativo e os encaixes temporais que organizam os episódios.

Abstract: This article aims to point out and understand how the role of art and the function of the writer, taken as starting points of the creation process, influenced the consecrated structural proposal of O Continente and, seen from there, serve to think the whole of Erico Verissimo’s work. Aspects such as the composition of the characters, the social voices they mimic, the alternations of narrative focus and the time frames that organize the episodes will be analyzed.
