Graffiti in Imperatriz-MA:
A sociotechnical analysis
Abstract
The present work aims to make a sociotechnical reflection about the practice of graphism, popularly known as graffiti, in the city of Imperatriz-MA. Thus, we focus on the city-actors-graffiti relationship, having as a starting point the way in which social actors give life to activities that manifest gestures, rhythms and operative behaviors, which contribute to the production of urban aesthetics through graffiti. We are particularly interested in seeing how the urban artists who produce this type of painting present different styles and aesthetics, largely derived from their skills and technical choices, in a universe characterized by the movement of hip-hop and skateboarding. Therefore, through photographic and videographic records, we seek to describe and analyze these sociotechnical processes, privileging the trajectory and ways of making graffiti of one of the most recognized urban artists in Imperatriz.
