Abstract

This article aims to explain recurring characteristics in contemporary drama and its relations with the scenic materiality. The principle makes a brief historical background, about word usage modes in the composition of theatrical writers present in the history of Western theater. Then discusses performative aspects of the theatrical text, and reflects on the use of the text in contemporary theater. Therefore, as the example object the staging and dramaturgy of Congresso Internacional do Medo the group Espanca!. Thereby, aims to raise possibilities to think some aspects of the current drama and suggest reflection points on the dialogue text-scene.
