Resumo

O artigo discute alguns dos novos contextos e desafios éticos postos à lembrança do Holocausto, num cenário pós moderno de fragmentação, multiculturalismo e intensificação do revisionismo. Em diálogo com a literatura recente das ciências sociais, salienta-se a importância e os problemas clássicos e atuais de representação da memória nos memoriais do Holocausto, concluindo-se pela importância de investir-se em memoriais multiculturais e rituais conjuntos, com homossexuais, ciganos e outras vítimas do nazismo.


Holocaust, trauma and memory - Abstract: The paper discusses some of the new contexts and ethical challenges faced by the memory of the Holocaust,in a post modern context of fragmentation, multiculturalism and intensification of revisionism. In dialogue with recent social sciences literature, the paper deals with the importance and problems of classic and current representation of the memory of the Holocaust, especially in memorials and concludes stressing the importance of investing in multicultural memorials and rituals sets, with homosexuals, gypsies and other victims of Nazism.
