MACUNAÍMA, FICÇÃO DE ARQUIVO DA NARRATIVA BRASILEIRA

Resumo

RESUMO: O trabalho interpreta Macunaíma (1928), de Mário de Andrade, enquanto ficção de arquivo da narrativa produzida sobre o Brasil. Para tanto, é feita uma discussão do que se entende por arquivo, bem como por ficção de arquivo a fim de se articular a teoria com o projeto intelectual e artístico desenvolvido na escrita de Macunaíma. Defende-se que Mário de Andrade trabalha, na composição da narrativa, apropriando-se de textos ficcionais e não-ficcionais tidos como fundadores da nacionalidade. No entanto, essa apropriação, até certo ponto, se dá dentro de um projeto consciente do caráter discursivo e ideológico desses textos fundadores, os quais são rasurados na escrita de Macunaíma através da articulação da linguagem do mito com a do sarcasmo e humor. As ideias de origem e autoridade, inerentes ao arquivo, são questionadas pela figura do narrador da história, um papagaio, o qual dá a entender que "as origens" são narradas em segunda mão por um copista. Por outro lado, é também verdade que a composição do livro se dá de acordo com o que Còdebo (2010) chama de paradigma da legitimidade, uma vez que o arquivo funciona como a base realista da ficção. É nesse sentido, portanto, que se faz necessário investigar como se dá o uso do arquivo na composição de Macunaíma, que em 2018 chega aos 90 anos de idade e que virou, ele mesmo, um documento literário da nacionalidade brasileira.

ABSTRACT: This paper interprets Macunaíma (1928), by Mário de Andrade, as an archive fiction of the narrative produced on Brazil. For that, it is done a discussion of what is meant by archive, as well as by archive fiction in order to articulate the theory with the intellectual and artistic project developed in the writing of Macunaíma. It is argued that Mário de Andrade works, in the composition of the narrative, appropriating fictional and non-fictional texts understood as founders of nationality. However, this appropriation, to a certain extent, takes place within a conscious project of the discursive and ideological character of these founding texts, which are scraped in the writing of Macunaíma through the articulation of the language of the myth with that of the sarcasm and humour. The ideas of origin and authority, inherent in the archive, are questioned by the figure of the narrator of the story, a parrot, who implies that "the origins" are narrated second hand by a copyist. On the other hand, it is also true that the composition of the book is in accordance with what Còdebo (2010) calls the paradigm of legitimacy, since the archive functions as a realistic basis for the fiction. It is in this sense, therefore, that it is necessary to investigate how the the archive is used in the composition of Macunaíma, which in 2018 reaches the age of 90 and which has turned itself into a literary document of Brazilian nationality.
